I awoke when Lilith did, cursing her for messing with my already ruined sleep cycle. I stumbled out into the hallway to confront her.
She was already standing there, waiting for me, a smug look on her face.
“Care to explain what the Hell is going on?” I growled. I was pissed. She was ruining my life. Not only my status within the Pack, but also my relationship with Randall. She seemed to always be there to ruin things each time I was just finishing picking up the pieces of the last problem. She’d made me a monster in the first place and right when I was finally able to accept what I was and fit in with the Pack, she’d destroyed that too.
“I don’t need to explain myself to you. You’re my pet, my dog. You don’t need any explanations.”
“I’m more than an animal and you’re ruining my life! That doesn’t deserve some kind of explanation?” I rushed at her and shoved her into the wall with a dull thud, pinning her against it, the force enough to make the wall shake. I knew she had the strength to fight me, to force me to let go of her, but she didn’t. She just waited for me to make my next move, her eyes daring me to hurt her. My back was already aching, a mirror of the hurt I’d caused her, a reminder of the pain I’d feel if I hurt her even more.
“I’m guessing your precious little lover doesn’t believe you.” She said as if she already knew the answer.
“Why should he believe me? I’ve been lying to him all along. I’m nothing but a liar and you planned it that way, didn’t you?” I snarled. I knew that I was beginning to change, my emotions getting the better of me, but I didn’t care. My anger fed Tala and she was happy. She never liked Lilith. I should have listened to my instinct. I should have listened to Tala and I should have tried harder when Randall was training me. I shouldn’t have gone for the easy way out.
My arms itched as the white fur spread across my skin smooth and thick like white and creamy frosting over a cake. “I didn’t make you lie to him. I only offered an easier path to control your animal and you chose to take it, knowing you wouldn’t be able to tell him the truth. You have been lying to him long before I came to visit last night.”
“Why did you even come? What business do you have with the Pack? I gave you the power you wanted.” I let her go, trying to force Tala back down. I didn’t even know who was there at the apartment, though it was safe to say that Kelsie and Stephanie weren’t there. We’d been making enough noise that they would have already come out of their rooms to see what the commotion was if they were there. However, I didn’t know when either one might come back, and I didn’t want them to walk in on me while I was half-wolf.
“Yes, you gave me your power and you are my wolf, you are my pet and energy source. However, there is something that I want more…” She ran her hands over my fur, rubbing it forwards and backwards, petting me.
“You want the Pack,” I realized, looking at her through wolf eyes.
“Yes, the Pack here will be mine. This is one of the largest packs in the country. If I have control over it, I will have power beyond imagination. I’ll grow my pack and have hundreds of minions, all serving me, their Alpha queen. I’ll be the most powerful vampire in the world!” She grinned, showing off her fangs.
“To become the head Alpha female of the Pack, you’ll have to marry Randall. My Randall.” So she’d been trying to steal him all along, she wanted him to be mad at me.
“No, I’m not interested in your little pup. There’s another way to be the sole heir to the Pack.”
“You won’t kill Ran--”
“No, not that way. Randall isn’t important if I win a fight against Quinn. It’s not my fault that the Pack rules say it has to be a fight to the death. When I win, I become the leader. Don’t worry, though. I’ll let you and your boyfriend stay in the Pack, if he’s still speaking to you after I kill his dad. I’ll be a kind leader to my favorites,” She scratched behind my half-formed ears as she gazed at nowhere in particular.
“They’ll figure you out eventually. They’ll find out what you are.”
“By then it will be too late. There will be no one powerful enough to challenge me! They’ll have to obey me or I’ll kill them.”
“You sound like you’ve done this before,” I told her, pulling away from her hands.
“No. But do you remember the wolf that bit you?”
“The silver wolf, the one you sent to infect me.” I tried to keep the low growl from escaping, but it did anyway.
“He was an Alpha, exiled by his superstitious people because of the color of his fur. He was the rightful heir to his pack, he won a fight for power in a fair battle, but they didn’t give him what he earned, so he left. We found each other, both lonely, both unfulfilled. He learned of my abilities, powers that no other vampires have. He wanted me to use those powers against the wolves to enslave them and get his revenge.
“However, it took time for me to be able to gain control over my power. It wasn’t new to me, but I’d never had wolves that were willing to work with me. Some of my abilities only work with powerful Alpha wolves, which are even harder to find.
“By the time I got full control, he was too old to help me. So we found you to carry on his plan. He put all the energy and power he could into that bite, and combined with your own latent potential, he created you, probably the strongest and most powerful werewolf ever.”
“So I was chosen for a reason?” I asked, stunned by her revelation.
“Of course! We wouldn’t just pick any random human off the street! You showed potential, Selene. Potential for greatness,” She smiled proudly.
“Potential to be used,” I snarled.
“Only for a little while longer,” She said thoughtfully. “Once I’m leader, you can even be my second in command if you’re a good girl. I won’t need to drink from you as often because I’ll be drinking from the other wolves too, once I tell them what I really am. You’ll slowly regain your strength back to what you were, you’ll be the second strongest in the Pack under me.”
“I won’t help you destroy the Pack.”
“Even to keep your little Randall alive? If you’re gone, there’s really no reason to keep him alive.”
I growled at her again, failing to keep hold over my temper.
“Why don’t you take the rest of the evening to mull things over? I have to go meet with Quinn and the Elders tonight. They want to talk to me about something,” She flashed a devious grin.
“What!? Why?” I clutched at her shirt as she tried to walk away, my half-formed claws ripping the thin, gauze-like material.
She looked down at the holes, “Aw great, Selene. Now I have to change.”
“Why are they meeting with you?” I snarled. The only time they’d ever met with me was to decide if I was a threat to the Pack.
“I guess they just want to get a better look at me. I had to leave before dawn last night, so I couldn’t stay for breakfast.”
Her comment only fueled the fire. Filled with jealousy and anger, I stormed off to my room.

A/N: This chapter may be reworked a bit in the revisions. It feels really repetitive.
Check out my short story if you're bored. It was a little exercise in writing from a prompt, a little bit of playing around with the unknown and just writing a little scenario. Let me know what you think! The Hitchhiker

And she has a plan, well looks like Lilith might get to rule the pack. At least Randale shouldn't have to die.
I wonder how Selene is going to try and stop her.
I didn't find it repetitive. Good explanation and emotions.
Bring on the violence. I want to know how a Werewolf kills a Vampire.
